This Privacy Policy applies to the website operated by CosmoToolbox (“we”, “us”) at amberix.vip (the “Service”). It explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit or use the Service. CosmoToolbox is a static website: the astronomical tools run in your browser, and no account is required to use them. By using the Service, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

a. Personal information

We do not require registration, login, or any personal information to browse the Service or run the tools. The calculators compute their results locally on your device, and the values you enter are not transmitted to CosmoToolbox. If you contact us by email, you voluntarily provide your name and email address, which we use only to reply.

b. Usage and technical information

We and our hosting provider automatically collect technical information when you visit the Service, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent on each page, and an approximate, IP-based geographic location. This information is collected through server logs and, where enabled, analytics tools.

c. Cookies and tracking technologies

The Service may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies, which fall into three categories:

• Essential cookies — required for core functionality and security
• Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors interact with the tools and articles so we can improve content and experience
• Preference cookies — remember choices such as language

• a. Service providers — we share information with hosting, analytics, CDN, and email providers that help us operate the Service. They are contractually obligated to protect the information and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.

Some live tools, such as the ISS tracker, fetch data directly in your browser from named third-party providers; those requests are described in Section 6.

4. Data processing details

We process information on the following legal bases:

• Consent — where you explicitly or implicitly agree (for example, by providing your email address), which you may withdraw at any time
• Legitimate interests — where processing is necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service (for example, server logs used for security monitoring and fraud prevention)

Data retention. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. Usage and technical data is typically retained for up to 90 days; correspondence and email submissions are retained for up to 24 months.

International transfers. Your information is processed on the servers of our hosting providers, which may be located in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

5. Data security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit, access controls, and periodic security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-party services

The Service may load web fonts, images, and scripts from third-party providers (including but not limited to Google Fonts, Google Analytics, and CDN services). These third parties may independently collect technical data, such as your IP address, under their own privacy policies. In addition, live-data tools request information directly from named providers: the ISS tracker, for example, queries the public wheretheiss.at API from your browser. We do not control how those providers collect or process data, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

7. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights:

• GDPR (European Union) — residents of the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have the rights listed in Section 7. CosmoToolbox is the data controller; processing is based on consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations. We do not transfer data out of the EEA without appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s approved Standard Contractual Clauses.
• LGPD (Brazil) — rights consistent with the LGPD (Lei nº 13.709/2018). CosmoToolbox is the controller (controlador); requests may be submitted to [email protected] and will be answered within the period set by the ANPD.
• CCPA (California, United States) — rights to know, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, and not be discriminated against. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.
• COPPA (United States) — the Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information without verifiable parental consent.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it as required by law.

11. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or data practices, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of each website you visit.

12. No sale of personal data

We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal information collected through the Service for money or other consideration. We share information only with service providers as described in Section 3, and only for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Service.
