1. Acceptance of terms

Welcome to CosmoToolbox (the “Service”), operated at amberix.vip. These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CosmoToolbox (“we”, “the operator”).

  • By accessing, browsing, or using the Service in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy.
  • If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not access or use the Service.
  • Continued use of the Service after any revision means you accept the revised terms.
  • If you access the Service on behalf of an entity, you declare that you have the authority to bind that entity.

2. Service description

CosmoToolbox is an independent astronomy toolbox and reference site. It provides free in-browser calculators, live-data tools such as the ISS tracker, and editorial articles in the Observatory Journal. The Service does not sell products, process transactions, or facilitate purchases. All content is provided for informational and educational purposes only, and the calculators compute their results on your own device.

3. User rules and responsibilities

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • harm, disable, overload, or interfere with the operation of the website or any other party’s use of it
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access (hacking, password mining, and similar methods)
  • use robots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated means to access, collect, copy, or monitor the Service without prior written consent
  • interfere with or overload any third-party data provider that live tools depend on (for example, the orbital-data API behind the ISS tracker)
  • copy, republish, or redistribute content without prior written permission, except as permitted by fair use
  • submit unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or privacy- or IP-infringing content
  • impersonate any person or entity
  • upload or distribute viruses, worms, malware, or similar harmful code
  • restrict or hinder any other user’s use of the Service

You confirm that you are at least 13 years old; if you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review and agree to these terms on your behalf.

4. Intellectual property

All original content on the Service (articles, calculator explanations, designs, graphics, logos, and code) is the exclusive property of CosmoToolbox and its licensors, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

  • The CosmoToolbox name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of the operator.
  • Organizations, missions, products, and services named in our pages (such as NASA, ESA, and the IAU) remain the property of their respective owners. References are editorial and informational only and do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
  • You may share links to our pages and quote brief excerpts, provided you attribute correctly and link back to the original page at amberix.vip.
  • You may not republish, copy, distribute, modify, or exploit any content, in whole or in part or for any commercial purpose, without prior written consent.

5. Images, data providers, and third-party material

Article cover images and site artwork are produced for CosmoToolbox. Live tools rely on named third-party data providers — the ISS tracker, for example, uses the public wheretheiss.at API, and that provider’s own terms govern its data. Any third-party or licensed material that appears on a page is credited on that page and remains the property of its owner.

6. Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe any content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to with the subject line “Copyright”, including:

  1. identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  2. the exact URL of the allegedly infringing content on this site
  3. your full name, mailing address, email address, and telephone number
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf

We will review valid notices promptly and remove or replace content as appropriate.

7. Editorial independence

All articles, tool explanations, and journal entries are produced independently. We do not accept paid placement or sponsored content in the tool directory or the Observatory Journal. The opinions expressed are our own and do not represent the views of any organization mentioned in our pages.

8. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not own or control. We do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy policies, or operations, and we are not liable for any damage or loss arising from the use of or reliance on any third-party website or service.

9. Disclaimer

You use the Service at your own risk. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and course of performance.

  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that defects will be corrected.
  • Our tools and articles are for educational purposes and do not constitute professional, legal, or safety advice. They should not be used for actual spacecraft navigation, mission planning, or any safety-critical astronomical operation.
  • Constants, formulas, and live data (such as orbital positions) can change or vary — always verify critical figures against authoritative sources such as NASA or ESA publications before acting on them.
  • We are not responsible for any consequences of decisions made on the basis of our content.

10. Limitation of liability

In no event shall CosmoToolbox, its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed one hundred US dollars (US $100.00). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limits may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CosmoToolbox and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  1. your use of or access to the Service
  2. your violation of these terms
  3. your infringement of any third party’s rights

12. Account suspension and termination

No account is currently required for general access to the Service. If account features are introduced in the future:

  • we reserve the right to suspend, deactivate, or terminate an account at our sole discretion and without prior notice, including where we believe these terms have been violated
  • upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • you may request deletion or deactivation of an account at any time by contacting ; account data will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention requirements
  • provisions that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will remain in effect

13. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will endeavor to give at least 30 days’ notice before a revision takes effect (by updating the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, by posting a notice on the website). Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms; if you do not agree, stop using the Service.

14. Dispute resolution

  • a. Informal resolution — before initiating formal proceedings, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute. The complaining party shall provide written notice of the dispute, and the parties will attempt to resolve it within 60 days.
  • b. Binding arbitration — if the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, it shall be finally and exclusively resolved by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (small-claims court excepted), before a single arbitrator and in English. The award may be enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction.
  • c. Class action waiver — arbitration shall proceed on an individual basis only; both parties expressly waive the right to bring or participate in a class or consolidated action.
  • d. Equitable relief — either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction at any time to protect intellectual property or confidential information, without first pursuing arbitration.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Subject to Section 14, exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any action lie in the state and federal courts located in Delaware, United States, and both parties irrevocably submit to that exclusive jurisdiction and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum.

16. Entire agreement

These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire and exclusive agreement between you and CosmoToolbox regarding the Service, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and understandings, whether oral or written.

17. Severability

If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these terms invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

18. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. No waiver is effective unless signed by an authorized representative.
